Methodist Church Third Biennial Conference begins on August 25th

Sekondi (W/R), August 22, GNA – The third Biennial Conference of the Methodist Church of Ghana will take place at the Wesley Methodist Cathedral in Sekondi from August 25 to 29, 2004.

One hundred and fifty ministers including 17 Bishops and 152 Lay representatives are expected to attend the conference, which would be under the theme: “Faith working through love.”

This is contained in a statement by the Sekondi diocese of the Church, signed by the Very Reverend Charles Ekuban, Synod Secretary.

It said the conference would take stock of the performance of all the 15 dioceses in the country and also deliberate on the activities of the various organisations and institutions of the Church.

The conference would elect a new Administrative Bishop and a new Lay President to replace the incumbents whose terms of office would expire in 2005.

A new building for the Bishop of the Sekondi Diocese will be dedicated and 62 new ministers will be the ordained.
