Methodist Church awards 53 laymen in Tema

Tema, Feb 22, GNA – The Tema Diocesan Lay Movement of the Methodist Church on Sunday awarded 53 distinguished members as part of activities marking the 60th anniversary celebration of the Movement nationwide. The distinguished persons, which included some pioneers and previous executive members of the group, were drawn from all 15 circuits under the Diocese.

Mrs Araba Atta Sam, Lay President of the Methodist Church, Ghana, congratulated them for their immense contributions to the growth of the Church. She also called on other members of the Church to contribute their quota to the development of Christianity in the country.

Right-Reverend Samuel Achamfuo-Yeboah, Assistant Bishop of Saint Paul Methodist Church, Tema, who delivered the sermon, urged Christians to heed to the voice of God. Preaching on the theme: “Hear the voice of God and obey it,” Rt-Rev. Achamfuo-Yeboah said it was time Christians depended solely on the word of God instead of prophesies and miracles.
