Kumasi, Aug. 15, GNA – The Very Reverend Dr Paul Boafo, Protestant Chaplain of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has urged members of the Methodist Church Ghana, to stay united and ensure team work to grow the church.
He said what had kept the church growing over the years had been their firm belief in 93Connexionalism.”
The church’s adherence to this principle, he said, had greatly helped to foster interrelatedness such that the respective societies and circuits, the laity and ordained Ministers on many occasions had worked together to streamline their activities to address the needs of the church and society.
Very Rev Dr Boafo was addressing the Sixth Biennial Conference of the Ayigya Circuit Women’s Fellowship of the Church in Kumasi. “Connexionalism, Working Together as a Team,” was the theme. He expressed worry that Christianity in general was losing its impact on the society, citing non-adherence to the word of God, greed, materialism, selfishness and misdeeds of some men of God. He said it was high time the leadership proclaimed the gospel vigorously to purge society of evil and save more souls for God. Very Rev Dr Boafo appealed to the Fellowship not to relent in efforts at mobilizing resources to support the work of God at all levels to ensure the progress of the church. 15 Aug. 11
