Menang cries for the improvement of six-kilometre road

Menang (Ash), July 12, GNA – Menang, a predominantly farming community in the Adansi South District, has appealed to the government to rehabilitate the six kilometre road linking the area with New Edubiase. The farmers said the recent rains had caused severe damage to the road and rendered it almost impassable. Drivers were, therefore, refusing to ply it and the few, who accept to occasionally use it, take undue advantage of the situation, to charge unreasonably high fares.

Mr Joseph Boahen, the spokesperson, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that Menang and other surrounding communities served by the road, produce large quantities of cocoa and foodstuffs. It was, therefore, important the road was given the needed attention to prevent the farm produce from getting locked up. Mr Boahen also appealed to the assembly to support the community to complete a new classroom block for the local primary school. 12 July 10
