Members of TEWU in Shama embarks on indefinite strike

Takoradi, Nov. 24, GNA- Members of the Teachers and Educational Worker Union (TEWU) in Shama Ahanta East Metropolis and Ahanta West District, on Monday began an indefinite strike action to demand the correction of salary distortions and disparities affecting some members dating back to 1999.

A resolution signed by Mr. Dan Ayim Antwi; General Secretary of TEWU, expressed dissatisfaction about the undue delay in the resolution of the problem.

Mr. Maxwell Oduro Principal Industrial Relations Officer told the Ghana News Agency that an extra-ordinary meeting would be held to discuss the impasse.
