Members of NDC defect to NPP

Cape Coast, Oct. 21, GNA – The former Cape Coast Constituency Vice-Chairman of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Joseph Ewudzi and 45 others, on Thursday announced their defection to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr Ewudzi, who spoke on behalf of the defectors, at a press conference in Cape Coast, said their action was motivated by the leadership qualities of President John Agyekum Kufuor and were poised to work very hard to ensure his re-election in the December 7 polls.

One of the defectors, Papa Marcus, who claimed to be a “very important supporter” when he was with the NDC, promised to work hard to win more souls to the camp of the NPP, since his future was secured under the present government.

Mr Albert Essuman, the Regional Secretary of the NPP commended the defectors “for seeing the light”.
