Members of Ghana Insurers Association donates to Korle-Bu

Accra, Dec. 16, GNA – Members of the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA= ), on Thursday presented a cheque for GH¢5,000 to the management of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to assist clinical logistics and operations at=

the Accident Centre and Neurosurgical Department.

Mr Atsu K. Menyawovor, Chief Executive Officer of GIA, presenting th= e cheque said insurers aims at relieving pain and suffering and that the management of the Association was concerned to support health institution= s. He announced that the Association organised blood donation exercise to support the blood bank at the hospital and created charity activities to help the needy during the celebration of the Insurers’ Awareness Month celebration.

Mr Menyawovor urged other stakeholders to reach out to health institutions especially the Accident Centre and Neurosurgical Department to help to provide better health equipments. Mr Nelson K. Menorkpor, Director of Administration at the hospital, receiving the cheque, said management was faced with many challenges. These include logistics for clinical treatment in terms of equipment=

non-drugs consumable, deteriorating infrastructure and the need to have m= ore materials to operate daily.

Mr Menorkpor said equipment at the emergency units were obsolete and=

should be replaced to facilitate emergency cases.
