Melcom Care Foundation renovates Hospital

Melcom Care Foundation, the charity arm of the Melcom Group of Companies, on Thursday handed over the renovated 37th Military Hospital Maternity Ward to the Hospital’s authorities in Accra.

Mr Godwin Avenorgbo, Melcom Group Communications Director, said the renovation cost over GH¢ 30,000 and was part of the Group’s corporate social responsibility.

He said the Group decided to undertake the renovation works at the maternity ward because it is the point of entry of life for every individual, adding that the renovation involved painting, sanitary works, fixing of new fans and electrical works.

Colonel Dr Samuel Adjei, Commanding Officer of the 37th Military Hospital, expressed his gratitude to the Melcom Group and said it would enhance healthcare delivery in the country.

In 2013, the Melcom Care Foundation donated an ambulance valued at $ 33,000 to the Hospital and organized a Christmas party for children on admission.
