Medical students donate to Oda Hospital

Akim Oda, Feb.11, GNA – Two Ghanaian final-year medical students from Wisconsin in the USA have donated assorted medical equipment worth about 18 million cedis to the Akim Oda Government Hospital. The items were donated by Miss Stella Awua-Larbi and Miss Vivan Pran.

The items included niddles, bandages, suturing removal tape, gloves and thalitone blood pressure medication.

Presenting the items at a ceremony, Miss Awua-Larbi said the items were their personal contribution towards to complement government’s efforts in ensuring quality health care for the people. The Hospital Matron, Ms Comfort Owusu-Ansah who received the items on behalf of the hospital’s management, thanked the donors for the gesture and expressed the hope that they would donate more items to the hospital in the future.

She appealed to Miss Awua-Larbi who hailed from Akim Oda to come home to practice at the end of her training since the country needs more medical doctors.

Present at the ceremony were Mr Yaw Amprofi, the Acting Birim South District Chief Executive and some staff of the hospital.
