Medical students console bereaved families

Accra, Sept. 1 – GNA – The University of Ghana Medical Students’ Association on Wednesday consoled the families of the three doctors who died in a motor accident on the Accra-Kumasi road at the weekend. A statement Mr Kojo Alfred Osei-Bonsu, President, University of Ghana Medical Students Association, signed said the deceased left a void in their hearts that could not be filled.

It said Professor J.M.K. Quartey; Dr Benjamin Osei Wiafe and Dr Isaac Bentsi have left a vacuum with their loss, which “will significantly affect us students who are already grappling with the constraints of few lecturers.

“The Urology Department of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) and the nation as a whole” would feel the absence of the hardworking doctors and given even that the Lecturers at the Urology Department of the Korle -Bu Teaching Hospital were few.

“We can only rely on time to heal the wounds created by their absence.

“The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) and the medical fraternity have been dealt a great blow. We have lost not only valued lectures but fathers, mentors and friends”, the statement said.

The students wished Dr Kluffio, one of the victims who has been discharged from the Hospital a speedy recovery and expressed the hope of seeing him in the ward soon.
