Medical officer calls for support for health insurance

Wenchi, Dec 15, GNA- Dr Julius A. Dadobe, the Wenchi District Director of Ghana Health Services, has called on unit committees, assembly members, heads of departments and churches to assist in explaining the importance of health insurance to the people. Addressing a meeting of Wenchi District Assembly, Dr Dadobe said the scheme would improve the quality of health services and help reduce mortality rate.
”The scheme will also enable more people to get medical care at reasonable cost,” he added.
Dr. Dadobe said health workers would be compelled to perform better since board members would be monitoring their performance. He called on chiefs, MPs and government organisations, churches and NGOs to contribute effectively to make the scheme a success.
