Medical doctor gives to two institutions

A private medical practitioner, Dr. Steve Ogbordjor, has presented office equipment to the National Ambulance Service (NAS) and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the Asante-Akim Central Municipality to boost their operations.

The NAS received a desktop computer and accessories including a printer, four arm-chairs and a box of “A-4” sheets while the GNFS was given an air-conditioner, desktop computer and furniture.

Dr. Ogbordjor, who operates a private hospital at Konongo, said the gifts were meant to assist the two institutions improve the quality of their services.

The donation was also his way of giving back to the community the enormous benefits he had received.

He said it is important to appreciate that government alone cannot provide for all the needs of public institutions and, therefore, it is pertinent for everybody to share in the responsibility of assisting public institutions to perform.

The NAS and GNFS are emergency service providers and need to be adequately resourced for a swift response to emergencies.

Mr. Emmanuel Mensah, the Municipal Fire Officer, said the gifts were a welcomed relief, ending the situation where they were forced to print sensitive documents at public places.

He thanked Dr. Ogbordjor for the kind gesture, and pledged to take good care of the items.
