Media not interested in accountability over GH¢1m fund – MFWA

The Media Foundation for West Africa says the media has been appalling in ensuring that government accounts for how the one million Ghana cedis media fund was disbursed.

According to the foundation, the media appears not interested in demanding transparency and accountability from the Information and Media Relations Ministry.

The deputy executive director of the media foundation for West Africa, Sulemana Brimah last week demanded answers about how the fund was disbursed.

Government appointees and other media associations have been inconsistent in their explanations over the controversy.

Sulemana Brimah speaking to XYZ News in an interview said the media appears to be collaborating to kill the story.

“One would have expected that the media would have been asking the questions, the ministers and their own groups – the GJA, the GIBA, the PRINPAG, the necessary questions to understand what went on and to demand accountability and transparency and that is why I think the media has failed in protecting its own”.
