Media men and women are on a ‘Death sentence’ – Naziru Mohammed

“We must be circumspect in whatever we say… we must be of a clear conscience when we share the knowledge that we have to the audience… If you go on air, you are on a death sentence… You do not know when you will make mistakes in your verbal utterances”.

These comments were made by a leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Naziru Muhammed on TV Afrca’s morning show, Maakye, during the newspaper discussions segment.

According to him, media men and women as well as party communicators stand a greater risk of falling prey to unguarded speech blunders, which could lead to their doom. He made this assumption based on the recent threat scandal at Montie F.M. He also argued that among the three Montie convicts, only one panelist made threats.

“They accepted their misgivings and pleaded… when you listen to the audio, you realize that the only person who made threats is Alistair… even he issued an apology the next day… don’t you think that it would be unfair for judges to sentence you based on anger they feel towards you…. because of comments you made about them”, he added.
