Media focus on KB report surprising – Suhuyini

Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan Suhuyini, has said it is shocking how the media has developed an interest in the Prof Kwasi Botchwey-led election review committee report regarding why the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lost last year’s elections.

According to him, the report is an internal document of the NDC, and therefore will not serve any purpose for the public.

Two media houses, the Daily Guide newspaper and Accra-based radio station, Joy FM, have intercepted the documents.

The two media houses are serialising portions of the report compiled by the committee on the causes of the defeat of the NDC in last year’s presidential and parliamentary elections.

But speaking on TV3’s New Day programme on Saturday, October 28, Mr Suhuyini said: “It is surprising the interest of some other groupings – CSOs and the media on the report. It is an internal document, we all have documents I am sure we don’t make public.

“I don’t see how the reports of the NDC is going solve the myriads of the problems facing Ghanaians, I don’t see how the report is going to reduce electricity tariffs, the price of fuel.”
