Media Commission appeals to staff of GBC to exercise restraint

Accra, March 25, GNA – The National Media Commission (NMC) on Thursday appealed to the Management and staff of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) to exercise restraint and go on with their normal duties until an amicable solution is found to the impasse.

A statement issued in Accra on Thursday and signed by Mr Paul Adu Gyamfi, Acting Chairman of the NMC, said the Commission noted with grave concern the rumpus at GBC.

It said at an emergency meeting of the Commission on Wednesday to which the Chairman of the Board of Directors of GBC, Professor Stephen Adei, was invited, he assured the NMC that the Board would do everything necessary to ensure the return of industrial peace and harmony to GBC. Prof Adei, said any intended action of the Board in the matter would be referred to the NMC for its approval.
