Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko says maintaining a dominant home record will be crucial to the club’s ambition of winning the Ghana Premier League title this season.
The Tarkwa-based side has been formidable at the TNA Stadium, going unbeaten in all five home matches, winning four and drawing one. With the club eyeing a strong title push, Tanko believes their home form must remain non-negotiable.
Speaking ahead of Medeama’s Week 11 clash against Bechem United on Saturday, November 22, the coach expressed confidence in his squad’s readiness and stressed the importance of taking maximum points at home.
“We are playing at home, so like any other game, we want to control the game, to score goals,” Tanko said. “It’s not going to be easy. Bechem is a very good team, they have a new coach, the players are motivated, but I think playing at home with our supporters behind us, I think we can take the three points.”
Tanko emphasized that securing victories at the TNA Stadium is essential if Medeama is to mount a serious title challenge.
“Medeama is playing the league to win it, so definitely if you want to win the league, you must win your home games. I’m sure the boys are ready to do it,” he added.
Medeama’s upcoming game against Bechem United kicks off at 3pm on Saturday, with fans in Tarkwa hoping their club can extend its impressive home run and keep the title charge on track.
