Juaso (Ash), Sept. 17, GNA – A 33-year old mechanic, Nicholas Asare, has been sentenced to 40 years imprisonment by the Juaso Circuit Court for incest and defiling another teenager. Both victims are aged 14.
Asare’s criminal and abominable sexual affair with his own biological daughter has resulted in pregnancy and birth of a-year-and-two-month baby.
His other victim is also carrying a nine-month pregnancy. Police Detective Inspector Eric Kobla Atatsi told the court presided over Justice S.K. Sarpong Appiah that Asare lives at Akrantebesa, a suburb of Konongo, with his teenage daughter, who he raised single-handedly after his wife abandoned him and left the victim, then only 15 months old, in his care.
The convict somewhere last year started to sexually abuse her and the other young girl, a daughter of his landlady.
The prosecution said on September 7, the landlady, out of sheer curiosity, asked Asare’s daughter to tell her the father of her baby. To the woman’s surprise, the young girl pointed to the convict. This prompted the woman to employ all her persuasive skills to get her own pregnant daughter, who had all along refused to name the person responsible for her pregnancy to break the news. She mentioned Asare. A report was therefore made to the Police and he was arrested.
