MCE urges citizens to protect the environment

Takoradi, July 3, GNA – Captain Anthony Cudjoe (rtd), Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive, (MCE) has urged the public to partner the government to find lasting solutions to the various environmental problems.

Closing the MTN-21-Days of Y’ello Care Programme at Takoradi, he said environmental problems would be effectively tackled when everyone becomes conscious of his responsibilities towards the environment.

Capt Cudjoe said people should desist from littering the environment, dumping refuse into drains but must keep their immediate environment clean.

“The country has environmental issues and everybody should be conscious of this and play his respective role to assist the authorities to maintain the environment,” he stressed.

Mr Clement Asante, Senior Manager of MTN in-charge of the Western and Central Regions, said this year’s programme was under the theme: “Our Environment, Our Future”.

He said and various environmental driven activities were undertaken and their objectives would be fully realized when the public collectively manage and sustain the projects.
