Mauritius President to visit Ghana

Accra, June 28, GNA – The President of Mauritius, Sir Angerood Jugnauth would pay a three-day state visit to Ghana from the June 30 to July 3.

The visit, which is at the invitation of President John Agyekum Kufuor, is in commemoration of the 44th anniversary of the attainment of Republican status by Ghana.

President Kufuor undertook a state visit to the Republic of Mauritius in May 2003.

President Sir Jugnauth would be accompanied by senior member of his Government and would be met on arrival by President Kufuor. The two leaders would hold bilateral talks on a wide range of issues of mutual concern to both nations, notably economic and trade issues which have dominated relations between Ghana and Mauritius in recent times.

During the visit, Sir Jugnauth would be a special guest of honour at a dinner to be hosted by President Kufuor on the anniversary of the Republic Day of Ghana.
