“Matthew 25” receives items worth about 27 million

Koforidua, April 27, GNA- A non-governmental organisation, “Thank U”, based in the United Kingdom has presented items worth 27 million cedis to the Matthew 25 House at Koforidua.

The Matthew 25 House was established by the Catholic Diocese of Koforidua to care and support people living with HIV/AIDS. The items included a gas stove, water tank, cylinders and 24 plastic chairs.

Presenting the items on behalf of the NGO, Mr Emmanuel Simons, a Ghanaian based in the UK, said the organization was able to raise the money for the items through a dinner dance it held in London after the Executive Director of the organization, Ms Sally Baffour, visited the Matthew 25 House last year.

He commended the House for its concern for those living with AIDS and said the organization would continue to assist the House and the AIDS victims.

Rev Fr Alex Bobby Benson, the Director of the Matthew 25 House, said there were plans to build a Matthew 25 Village to cater for more AIDS victims and appealed for more support from individuals and organisations.
