Mathematics teachers end conference in Sekondi

Sekondi, July 8, GNA – The Mathematical Association of Ghana (MAG) has been called upon to contribute towards the development of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) programmes for schools.

Addressing a conference of the Western Region branch of the Association in Sekondi on Thursday, Mrs. Justina Esinam Torjabor, Regional Director of Education, called for the participation of MAG in the development of ICT syllabuses and programmes for schools with emphasis on Mathematics.

She commended MAG for joining the campaign to bring ICT knowledge to the doorstep of its members and the public and said the theme of the conference, “Mathematics in the ICT Age, the real issues” was relevant. Mrs. Torjabor urged the MAG to come out with a formula to remove the “phobia” of the subject from students and praised the association for helping in preparing the syllabus and textbooks for pre-tertiary schools.

A total of 400 first and second cycle mathematics teachers attended the conference.
