Mason remanded in custody for defilement

Tema, May 21, GNA- A 31-year-old mason who is alleged to have defiled a 10-year-old girl has been remanded in custody by the Tema circuit court “A”. Kwasi Ahiable pleaded not guilty and will reappear on June 6.

The prosection said on April 29, 2004, at about 1800 hours the victim’s mother sent her to buy corn dough from a nearby house at Baatsona. The accused followed her, dragged her into an uncompleted building, and forcibly had sex with the girl.

Chief Inspector Acquah said a passer by saw the accused in the act, and quickly informed a sister of the victim, who also reported the case to the community 18 police and accused was arrested.
