Mason jailed 12 months for stealing a fowl

Dormaa Ahenkro(B/A), Dec. 2, GNA – A Dormaa Ahenkro Circuit Court has sentenced Kwame Wrae a mason from Wamfie to 12 months imprisonment on his own plea for stealing two fowls valued at 100,000 cedis. The court presided over by Mr. Justice Vincent Carl Senu ordered Wrae to pay 100,000 cedis as compensation to the complainant Samuel Boadi, or in default serve three months imprisonment. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector A.A. Duodoo of Wamfie Police said the complainant, a mechanic at Wamfie had detected that someone had been stealing his fowls.

He said at dawn on November 26, the complainant heard some unusual noise among the fowls he raised the alarm and with the assistance of some people arrested the accused holding two of the fowls, he was sent to the Wamfie police station and after investigations charged with the offence.
