Mason in court for defilement

A 25-year- old mason who allegedly defiled a 15-year old house help at Anyaa has been placed before an Accra Circuit Court and charged with defilement.

Kwame Adu, who allegedly had sex with the victim on four occasions at the victim’s mistress’ house has denied the charge.

The Court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh remanded Adu into Police custody and is to reappear on August 13.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Patience Egyapong told the Court that the complainant is a banker residing at Anyaa Last Stop with the victim.

ASP Egyapong said Adu also resides in the same vicinity and during the month of June, Adu met the victim and proposed to her.

The accused person went ahead to invite the victim to his house and had sex with her.

Prosecution said since then, Adu has had sex with the victim on four occasions in the complainant’s house.

He said the complainant, was however informed of Adu’s conduct and when the victim was confronted, she confirmed it.

Prosecution said the complainant reported the matter to the Police and Adu was picked up while a medical form was issued to the victim for examination and treatment.
