Married men fight over girl

Residents of Kanieshie, a suburb of Accra, are yet to come to terms with the unbelievable behaviour of two middle-aged and legally married men who instead of spending quality time with their wives and children decided to fight for the love of a young lady in public.

The men, Victor Agyei, 38 a mechanical engineer and Henry Asumadu, a 43-year-old businessman openly exchanged blows last week Saturday night when they clashed at the Kaneshie residence of Linda.

Agyei who was severely injured as a result of the fight told eye witnesses that on the day of the incident, he went to visit Linda, a working colleague when he was attacked by Asumadu who suspected him of having an affair with the pretty young lady.

Speaking to the New P&P, Linda said at about 9pm last Saturday, Asumadu came to her house to plead for their relationship to be rekindled since they had broken up some weeks earlier. However, she refused to patch up with him and rather ordered him to leave her house.

She said Asumadu left, but hid himself somewhere around the vicinity and came to attack Agyei, her co-worker who had come for a visit.

Asumadu told this paper that though he is a properly married man, he had also been in a relationship with Linda for the past two years. He said all was well with their relationship until that fateful day when during a visit to her, she asked him to leave her house after receiving a phone call.

According to him, although the lover did not offer any reason for her strange action, she insisted he leaves immediately and even threatened to call in her brothers to forcibly drag him out.

He noted that having contributed financially towards the renting of her apartment; he found it extremely difficult to leave the house without any tangible reason. He, therefore, decided to hide somewhere to find out what Linda was up to.

Asumadu said a few hours later, Agyei, a man he (Asumadu) had all along suspected of dating his lover emerged from her room. He said when he approached Agyei, about his presence in Linda’s home; he took offence and attacked him physically. This resulted in a fierce fight that left both men injured.

Meanwhile the wives of both Asumadu and Agyei have joined forces against Linda who they described as a ‘husband snatcher’
