Marion church to host Ghanaian pastor

Marion Baptist Church will welcome Pastor Emmanuel “Muss” Mustapha from Yendi, Ghana, on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m.

Affectionately known as Pastor Muss, he works closely with the More Than Nets program, which helps combat malaria. Several area churches have supported the program, which has distributed more than more than 100,000 nets.

Since More Than Nets’ inception, the number of people being hospitalized with malaria has decreased more than 40 percent.

Virginia Baptists have an agreement with the Ghana Baptist Convention to reduce malaria in Yendi, which encompasses about 454 communities, and to plant churches in the surrounding area. Mustapha has helped plant more than 900 churches in the last decade.

Anyone who would like to learn more about More Than Nets and Mustapha’s work is encouraged to attend the Wednesday program.
