Marijuana smokers flee form police

Kasoa (C/R, Jan 30, GNA- A group of marijuana smokers at the week-end took to their heels when they spotted that the Police was advancing towards their hide-out at Budumburam, near Kasoa in the Central Region.

However, the Kasoa Police was able to arrest Rex Boakye Datteh, a block contractor at another hideout in the same vicinity with some parcels of leaves believed to be Indian hemp.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview on Saturday, Assistant Superintendent Police, Charles Adalong, commander in charge of the Kasoa Police command said those, who fled for their lives only had a chance but wondered how they managed to detect police advancement. He said later laboratory examination would be conducted to determine the substance of the leaves.

ASP Adalong said the success in the combat of crime was largely depended on the regular flow of information provided to police for prompt action.
