Many hope for a “better Ghana” under Prez Mahama’s administration

After President John Dramani Mahama’s formal inauguration, many Ghanaians are optimistic that his administration would work effectively to transform the state of the economy.

In an interview with Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra, a number of Ghanaians appealed to the President to ensure national unity since unity was very crucial in the development of every nation.

Miss Edna Obeng, a student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism said she was expecting the President to engage all Ghanaians no matter their political affiliation or ethnic background in governance, thereby tapping the very best talents to help move the nation in the right direction.

She expressed the hope that all the regions in the country would be treated fairly in the distribution of development projects.

Mr Samuel Amponsah, a staff at Ghana Education Service, Dodowa, said he expected the President to deliver on his promise to improve existing educational facilities and build new ones, as well as enhance teaching capacity.

He said the President should come out with an effective educational system that would suit Ghana in the modern era.

Mr David Apenteng, a businessman said he wished for effective partnership between government and the private sector to bring more investment into the country and help create more jobs.

A Ghana Health Service Staff who pleaded anonymity called on the President to provide the needed resources that would motivate health personnel to work towards the attainment of MDGs 4, 5 and 6.
