Manso-Nkwanta Health Centre takes delivery of US$66,000.00 medical items

The Manso-Nkwanta Health Centre in the Amansie West District, has taken delivery of medical equipment valued at about US$66,000.00.

The items include 35 hospital beds and mattresses, an incubator, X’-ray machine, scan device, refrigerator for blood storage, microscope, theatre bed, 70 bed sheets and 30 pillows.

They were a gift from a German friend of the Omanhene of the Manso-Nkwanta Traditional Area, Mr Cubeta Bencinic, in response to an appeal made to him.

Handing the items over to the facility through the Ashanti Regional Director of Health Services, Dr Aaron Offei, the Omanhene, Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah II, appealed to the government to upgrade the centre into a hospital.

This, he said, would significantly help to improve health care services to people in the area.

The chiefs and people have already started building structures for a Midwifery Training College, using their own resources.

He promised to provide the facility with a generator to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

Dr Offei pleaded with the district assembly to help construct residential accommodation for nurses and other health professionals posted to the area.**
