Manhyia Palace staff receives computer training

Kumasi, Sept 12, GNA – A one-week computer training and office management course organized for 25 members of staff of the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi has ended with a call on them to seize the opportunity to continue learning to improve their skills in administration and management.

The training course was sponsored by the Promoting Partnership with Traditional Authorities Project (PPTAP) under the sub component of capacity building, was undertaken by the Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI).

It covered the basics of Microsoft word, Excel and Power point as well as office management and administration.

Mr Johnson Osei-Hwidieh, the Project Manager of PPTAP, said the training was in fulfillment of the Asantehene’s vision to bring modernity to traditional administration.

He said the PPTAP project, which was the initiative of the Asantehene and supported by the World Bank, had succeeded in providing 40 basic schools, teachers’ bungalows, toilet facilities and boreholes to deprived communities in the Ashanti Region.
