Manhyia North NPP election halted as clashes intensify

The Manhyia north election of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was halted after misunderstanding lead to clashes between two fractions.

Today at the Manhyia North Constituency, the election of polling stations was marred as some journalists who were present to make a reportage of the proceedings were brutalized.

They were prevented from the scene to avoid any media coverage of the marred event.

Manhyia North Constituency happens to be the only constituency in the region that has failed to elect its Parliamentary candidates due to prolonged litigation.

Some claim the register is bloated and, therefore, needed to be overhauled whiles others are calling for a new register.

Meanwhile, the event could not end successfully as the agitations by the party members marred the whole process.

It is however not certain when exactly the election was going to be held again.
