Mando Secondary School Gets GAMSU

Ajumako-Mando (C/R), March 31, GNA-The Head of Ajumako-Mando District of the Methodist Church Ghana, the Very Reverend Charles Aaron Ekuban, has urged churches to intensify their peer educational programmes to help stem the growing indiscipline among the youth. Very Rev. Ekuban made the call when he inaugurated a branch of the Ghana Methodist Students Union (GAMSU) at Ajumako-Mando Secondary School.

He also charged parents and other stakeholders in education to actively involve themselves in the national crusade against indiscipline to save the nation from collapse.

Very Rev. Ekuban told the students that unless they allow their school authorities and parents to mould their character to suit the norms and ethics of the nation they would find things very difficult in life in future.

He expressed fear that if stringent measures were not taken now to stem indiscipline, which had virtually engulfed the society, Ghana would be a state with uncountable number of hardened criminals who would make life extremely unbearable for law abiding citizens.

He asked leaders of the 75-member branch union to organize regular fora to inculcate good morals in their members and help replicate the union in other secondary schools in the area. They should also organize regular religious studies to draw members and non-members of the union closer to God for divine direction and guidance.
