Man who steals sheep goes in for four years

Ho, Dec 07, GNA – Mawuenyega Amenope, 19, was on Tuesday jailed four years in hard labour by a Ho Circuit Court for stealing a female sheep valued at 500,000 cedis at Kpogboni, near Dzemeni, in the South-Dayi District.

Amenope, who pleaded guilty, had earlier stolen a goat from the same complainant but the case was settled at home through arbitration. Inspector Emmanuel Okudzeto, of the Volta Regional Police Headquarters, told the court that Amenope was in the act of stealing the sheep from Mr Awukuvi Ziedzor on December 1 when he was caught and handed over to the police. 07 Dec 05
