Man stabs sister to death for cheating on him

A Kumasi High Court has remanded a 49-year-old man for allegedly killing his sister with whom he was having a sexual relationship. The suspect, Steven Owusu is also said to have injured a man suspected to be his sister’s boyfriend.

The suspect, according to family members, has been in an amorous relationship with his sister for many years, despite fierce resistance and condemnation of his abominable act by family members.

According to prosecutors, on the 7th of March 2013, Steven Owusu who is a brother to Akua Mary, the deceased, attacked his sister’s boyfriend in their room whiles the two were allegedly having sex.

Ostensibly out of jealousy, he inflicted cutlass wounds on the man and ended up stabbing his sister severally.

His sister was pronounced dead at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. But the deceased’s boyfriend survived after he rushed to the Hospital to get his wounds treated.

The suspect has pleaded not guilty to the charges of attempted murder and murder.

The court presided over by Justice Reuben Apenkwa remanded him to re-appear on the 11th of April 2014.
