Police at Wenchi in the Brong Ahafo Region have detained a forty eight-year-old farmer who murdered his own brother for allegedly stealing his cockerel.
The man, Sombona Nimbole was apprehended by the youth of the town after news broke that he’d committed the heinous crime.
The incident threw the town into a state of shock as resident could not believe why a man could kill his own relative over a cockerel.
The Wenchi Divisional Police Crime Officer DSP Vincent Addotey who confirmed the incident stated that the suspect admitted slashing his brother’s throat when a confrontation ensued over the whereabouts of the cockerel.
He said, the suspect will soon be arraigned before court to face the law.
