Man shot dead in Obuasi suburb

A man believed to be a small scale miner has been shot dead in Samsonkrom, a suburb of Obuasi, our Ashanti Regional correspondent reports.

William Evans Nkum says the man is believed to have been killed by unknown assailants.

Information is sketchy, admitted the Obuasi Divisional Crime Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kwabena Otu Acheampong.

Some people said the assailants are five while others said they are four, he said.

“We call on the general public to volunteer information that will lead to their arrest,” he said on TV3.
