Man sets lover ablaze; commits suicide

Love went sour between two residents in Accra when 27 year old seamstress, Dora Dunyo was allegedly set on fire by her boyfriend who poured petrol on her in their home near the Trassaco Valley Estates.

The lady, who is currently in critical condition at the University hospital in Legon, was rushed to the hospital moments after neighbours were alerted of the situation.

Speaking to Citi News, brother of the victim, Kwame John, indicated that Bismark [boyfriend] had on countless occasions beat up his sister.

According to him, he was summoned at 2:36 am on Friday to Dora’s home only to discover “she had been burnt.”

“I was told that the guy poured petrol on her and later sparked a match that caught fire leading to her getting burnt” he lamented.

She was later rushed to the University hospital and a complaint lodged at the Police Station.

He further stated that Bismark, after realizing what he had done, committed suicide.

“Dora is in critical condition and we are appealing to Ghanaians to come to our aid.” he added.
