Man sentenced two years for stealing

Breman Asikuma (C/R), Nov 9, GNA – Ussifu Salifu, a 38-year-old farmer from Breman Odoben Zongo, was on Wednesday sentenced to 24 months imprisonment in hard labour for stealing two bags and 1,250.000 cedis by a Breman Asikuma magistrate’s court.

He pleaded guilty and was convicted on his own plea. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Gershon Awuyeh told the court that on November 5, Salifu took advantage of the absence of Mariama Mohammed and broke into her room and took away the bags and the cash. He said neighbours suspected the convict and when his room was searched the items were found.
