Man remanded for threatening to kill his mother

Nkawie (Ash), Oct 22, GNA – The Nkawie circuit court last Wednesday remanded Kwabena Boateng, a 55-year-old farmer from Amaadum-Adankwame in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District, for threatening to kill his mother.

He pleaded guilty and will re-appear on October 26 for his sentence.

Police Chief Inspector Archibald Fando, prosecuting, told the court that Madam Akosua Akwaa, the complainant and her son, Boateng, lived at Amaadum-Adankwame. He said the accused had on several occasions threatened to kill the mother over a cocoa farm her late husband left her. Chief Inspector Fando said at on October 01, the accused demanded a portion of the farm from his mother since he claimed he was the third son.

The prosecution said when his sister advised him to stop his behaviour Boateng got angry and beat her up. The accused then repeated his threat to kill the mother so he was arrested.
