Kwasi Sam, a sawmill apprentice who allegedly had anal sex with a 12-year-old boy at Teshie, has been remanded into Police custody by an Accra Circuit Court.
Sam, charged with defilement of a child under 16 years, has pleaded guilty.
The court presided over by Mrs Ruby Naa Adjeley Quaison deferred Sam’s sentence to March 29.
Prosecuting Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire said the complainant resides at Teshie with the victim. The accused person also resides in the same vicinity.
Prosecution said the complainant returned from a journey about three weeks ago and the victim informed her that Sam has been having sex with him through his anus since November last year.
The complainant reported the matter to the Police and she was given a police medical form to send the victim for examination and treatment.
Prosecution said when the complainant sent the medical report to the Police, Sam was picked up. In Sam’s caution statement, he admitted the offence.
