Man kills sister, injures brother-in-law over alcohol

The Kibi District Police Command has arrested a man for allegedly killing his sister and fatally injuring his brother-in-law.

The body of the deceased mother of eight has been deposited at Kibi Government Hospital while the brother-in-law has been hospitalized.

The unfortunate incident occurred Saturday evening.

A resident in the community told Starr News, that the suspect stormed the house of the brother in-law who is a hunter to request some money to buy alcohol but was turned down.

The suspect became furious and allegedly hit the face of the brother-in-law with a stick. His sister who was in the room upon hearing the husband wallowing in pains rushed out in an attempt to protect her husband but was also hit in the neck with a stick by the suspect killing her instantly.

According to reports, the suspect later went into the room of the brother -in law for his gun and in a display of bravado threatened to gun down anyone who gets closer to him but unfortunately there was no bullet in the gun making it possible for the residents to arrest him.

Information gathered by Starr News indicates that the suspect committed the crime under the influence of marijuana and alcohol.

The Kibi District Police Commander, DSP Marian Osei -Adu confirmed the incident to Starr News adding that investigations have commenced into the incident.
