Man kills his sister he intends to marry

Dadieso (W/R), July 30, GNA – A 27-year-old farm labourer who allegedly murdered her sister on a farm at Aprukusu village in the Aowin-Suaman District in June has been arrested and handed over to the Dadieso police. After committing the crime, Alex Kunibe went into hiding at Sefwi-Akatiso.

Police Detective Sergeant Cephas Ahiaku of the Dadieso Police told the Ghana News Agency that the victim, 14-year-old Dagboli Dagarti, lived with her brother Kunibe in the village. He began having sexual intercourse with her and she reported it to their father, Gyato Dagarti.

When Kunibe was confronted, he admitted having sex with his sister and said he wanted to marry her. Sergeant Ahiaku said Gyato did not take kindly to this and ordered his daughter to leave the house of Kunibe. A few days later when the deceased went alone to work on a farm, Kunibe followed his sister to the farm and butchered her with a cutlass and bolted.
