Man jailed seven years for defilement

Kwaku Asiedu, 28, pleaded guilty to defilement of a child under 16 years contrary to section 101 (1) of Act 29/60.

Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Fabian Sallah told the court presided over by Mr Emmanuel plange Brew that, Mr Nicholas Ofosu Agyekum the complainant lives at Akim Osoroase with the victim and the convict.

Chief Inspector Sallah said, on March 3, at about 1000 hours, the victim who stays with her mother at Osoroase was sent her to fetch water from a nearby stream.

On her way to the stream, Asiedu met her and lured her to an uncompleted building and forcibly had sex with her.

According to the prosecutor, a witness in the case who was in search of his children saw Asiedu in the act and caused his arrest.

The prosecutor said the victim was issued with a medical report form to attend hospital.
