Man jailed for stealing eggs, fowls

Asamankese, Sept. 27, GNA – A circuit court at Asamankese has sentenced Musah Shaibu, a caretaker of a poultry farm, to three years imprisonment in hard labour for stealing 40 crates of eggs and fowls valued over 160 Ghana cedis.

Shaibu pleaded guilty to the charge.

Police Chief Inspector Joseph Idan told the court that on September 16, a caretaker of the poultry farm where Shaibu also worked, informed the owner of the farm, that the accused had stolen eggs and fowls. Prosecution said Shaibu after committing the crime went to live with his brother at Madina, a suburb of Accra.

Chief Inspector Idan said the owner of the farm and two other persons arrested Shaibu at Madina and he admitted the offence.
