Man jailed for defiling an imbecile pupil

Nkawie (Ash) Jan. 23, GNA-The Nkawie circuit court, presided over by Mr. Jerome Noble Nkrumah, has sentenced Kwame Francis, a mason to 15 years imprisonment for defiling on two occasions, a 16-year old mentally-retarded pupil at Tanoso near Kumasi.

He pleaded guilty and was convicted on his own plea.

Prosecuting Chief Inspector Robert Yitamkey, told the packed court that both the accused and the victim lived at Apatrapa. According to the prosecution, on January 7, this year the victim was in her house with her parents when the accused came to the house to buy a sheep for a festive occasion.

The prosecution said the next day, the victim was sitting in front of her house when accused lured her into his room and had sex with her and after the act, gave her GH=A21.00.

On January 16, this year, accused went to the victim’s house and lured her into his room and had sex with her again and gave her GH=A22.00. According to the prosecution, on her return home, the victim gave the GH=A22.00 to her mother, who became suspicious and wanted to know the source of the money.

Victim then narrated her ordeal to her parents, who subsequently reported the matter to the police who effected his arrest after investigations.
