Man jailed for assault

Mankranso (Ash), Aug. 14, GNA- A 28-year-old unemployed who constantly terrorised his family over food has been jailed twelve months by a Magistrate’s court at Mankranso for assault. Daniel Tuffour pleaded guilty.

Police Inspector Carl Michale Adjeng told the court that the accused and his brother Francis Tuffour lived with their mother and niece Janet Afriyie in the same house at Bronikrom near Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South district.

He said on Aug. 6, this year, the niece of the accused called him to come for his supper but he took offence when he saw that the quantity of food given to him was insufficient. He, therefore, insulted his mother and the brother.

The prosecution said his mother rebuked him for his behaviour and this provoked him more and attacked the mother.

Inspector Adjeng said when Francis tried to separate them the accused beat him up and bit his upper lip.
