Man jailed 14 years for dealing in “wee”

Juaso (Ash) June 3, GNA- A 36-year-old farmer at Agogo who was found with 17.5 grams of Indian hemp has been sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment by the Juaso circuit court.

Abdulia Salifu pleaded guilty to possessing 31 wrappers and a quantity of Indian hemp in his house.

Police Inspector J.M. Adams told the court that in February 2004, police had information that the accused was peddling in “wee”. A team of policemen led by the crime officer searched the house of Salifu and arrested him with 31 wrappers and a large bundle of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

Inspector Adams said the suspected dried leaves were sent to the police forensic laboratory for examination and after the test, the result was found to be Indian Hemp weighing 17.5 grams. 3 June 04
