Man inflicts cutlass wound on his friend over dead python

Hohoe, May 14, GNA – Thomas Doe Kaklo, farmer, has been put before a Hohoe circuit court for causing harm to Bediba Kofie, a Togolese national, with a cutlass over a dead royal python. Kaklo, who inflicted deep cutlass wounds on his victim, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was admitted to a bail in the sum of GHc 2,000 with a surety to re-appear on June 03.

Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mr Benjamin Dadzie, said Kaklo and Kofie met at a palm wine tapping spot where one Kofi Nukpenu said he had killed a royal python and inquired from them whether they were interested.

Kofie replied in the affirmative and this degenerated into argument between Kaklo and Kofie. Mr Dadzie said Kaklo intentionally and unlawfully inflicted cutlass wounds on Kofie. He said Kofie was taken to the Hohoe Municipal Hospital where he was treated and discharged. 14 May 09
