Man in court for killing friend over GH¢30

Kwadwo Afriyie, the 27-year old man who murdered his friend with a pair of scissors on Tuesday morning is expected to appear before court today July 26, 2017 and will be provisionally charged for murder and use of offensive weapon.

Twenty-Five (25) year old Amos Ekow who is the son of the Assemblyman of Aboabo- Mempeasem within the Asokore Mampong municipality of the Ashanti Region, met his untimely death after he was stabbed severally by the suspect following an argument over GH¢30 he owed.

Police reveal that the suspect in his caution statement indicated that the deceased had borrowed the money from him to solve a pressing problem with a promise of paying at a particular time but reneged on his promise.

According to an eye witness account, Kwadwo Afriyie spotted the deceased in the community and confronted him on why he had failed to honour his part of the bargain degenerating into a heated argument

The suspect threatened to kill him if he failed pay him the amount owed.

He then rushed on him after tempers had flared following the argument and stabbed him twice on the chest with a pair of scissors resulting in his death.

Police rushed to the scene and apprehended the suspect who due for court today

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital pending autopsy.
